Our initial examination is free of charge.  Thus, whether or not you have insurance doesn't matter for this first visit.  Dr. Russell will do an examination and provide information you will need to make a decision about braces.  This information will include the cost of treatment and an estimate of the time that treatment with braces will last.  We will give you the necessary pretreatment information so that you can check with your insurance company before orthodontic treatment with braces begins.  Fortunately, communication of orthodontic needs for insurance purposes is quite easy.  Usually a FAX is all it takes to get things started.

If your insurance company requires you or your children to go to only one or two area orthodontic clinics -- ask them why!  Shouldn't you be able to choose the orthodontist you prefer rather than the clinic impersonally picked by bureaucrats at your insurance company?  Would you go to a high-volume brain surgery clinic if the geniuses at your insurance company said you must?
